Collection: Ghosts of Norfolk County
Born and raised in Norfolk County, in southern Ontario, Canada, and still living a short drive away, J.w.Duwyn wanted to capture in paint, a glimpse of its past. These buildings are tobacco kilns, once used to dry and cure the crop. Thousands of these buildings used to dot the Norfolk landscape, and became an icon of the area. Obsolete now, the few kilns that haven't yet been torn down, are slowly succumbing to the elements, gravity and time. These are the "Ghosts of Norfolk County."
The three prints that make this collection, entitled, "The Green Kiln", "The Red Kiln", and "The Kilnyard", showcase these crumbling buildings in their iconic, green, red, and grey.
Sold individually, or as a set of all three works.
